Voice of Youth Africa (VOYA) is an initiative of Women Lens Africa (WLA) dedicated to empowering young people by amplifying their voices, promoting youth entrepreneurship, and connecting them to opportunities for economic growth.
The initiative was established in response to high youth unemployment rates and the limited access to opportunities faced by young people in marginalized communities. Many young people have the creativity, resilience, and innovative ideas needed to build successful enterprises, yet they often lack visibility, mentorship, and access to capital.
Voice of Youth Africa focuses on supporting youth entrepreneurs, innovators, and women in agribusiness, particularly those who represent the majority of youth working at the grassroots level.
A core strategy of VOYA is using video storytelling and digital media to highlight youth-led businesses, promote their work, and connect them to networks of support, mentorship, and investment.
Through this approach, VOYA aims to build an ecosystem where young people can start, grow, and scale sustainable businesses that contribute to community development and economic transformation.
