Women Lens Africa (WLA) is a development organization in Uganda that leverages media and digital technologies to enhance women’s freedom of expression, information access, civic participation, and socio-economic empowerment. Through information and technology, we are transforming the way women engage with governance to meaningfully participate in decisionmaking processes and public life. We use human-centered design programming to support equitable representation of underserved women in conversations on policies, leadership, economic empowerment, and service delivery that impact their livelihoods, communities, and social transformation. WLA ensures that women most excluded in governance processes are empowered, heard, and included. Our key interest persons are: Women in politics and leadership, Young women and adolescent girls, Women living with disabilities, Refugee women, and Women in rural and remote communities.
We partner with Local government councils, Radio stations, Digital innovation hubs, Community-based organizations, National and international NGOs to amplify impact and boost gender-responsive governance.
